The Past Two Days
I have been working out, I just haven't updated about it! I have moved up to 30 minutes of cardio (yeah!) and I changed my strength routine. Today will be my weigh day, so I will update on that when I get back from working out. Hopefully I lost at least 1 pound because I've been working out every day. I am afraid that my nutrition habits have kept me from attaining that, though, but we'll see...there's still hope. My first "baby steps" goal is to reach 155 pounds. I have set rewards for myself at every 5-pound "baby step" goal. My first one (155 pounds) is a day of pampering for myself. I don't have enough money to go out to a spa or something like I would really like, so I will just spend the day pampering myself...facial, bubble bath, lotion, doing my nails, etc. that I don't get to do everyday! Losing 1 pound will put me closer to a day of pampering!

An off day
Well, I should have known that I was doomed from the beginning today! I tried to switch up breakfast a little bit and had some Special K instead of oatmeal. It was fine, but then I went to workout and was only able to get in about 15 minutes of my 25 minutes because my youngest dumped an entire box of cereal all over the carpet. Since I was not at my own house, I didn't feel right just letting it go until I was finished, plus, I didn't want anyone else to have to clean up after my child! So I jumped off the machine and cleaned up the mess. I should have jumped back on, but I didn't and by that point I felt that I was a little out of the groove. My workout wasn't that great anyway because it was just a slow day. Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day! I didn't do very well on my nutrition today, either, overall. Nothing sounded very good to eat and I didn't eat a very good assortment of fruits and veggies. However, with all of the "bad" today, I did get to go on a walk this afternoon with my boys because the weather was nice...in the mid-50's...not bad for February! So we went on a walk for about 15-20 minutes. Hopefully we will be able to build that up. Their legs were tired after biking/triking that much.
Tomorrow is a new day! Back to oatmeal to stay on track! Twenty-five minutes of cardio plus an upper body workout.

30 minutes of cardio
Today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I had to stop halfway through because I thought that my little one was getting into something, but then I jumped right back on. It was a good workout. I also did a lower body workout afterward.
So far today I have been true to what I posted yesterday...I have not cheated at all. :) I have stuck to my nutrition plan. Right now I can smell dinner cooking and it smells so good! I think it is also helping me from wanting to snack because the aroma is so yummy...Beef with Rosemary...it smells delightful. I can't wait to taste it. I hope the boys enjoy it, too!
Tomorrow I am doing 25 minutes on the elliptical plus an ab workout, I think. I have a schedule that I am trying to stick to and I don't know what it says for tomorrow exactly. Either way, it will be cardio + strength.
I weighed myself today and I weighed 159 pounds...good, not great. I lost 1 pound, so that is good. My goal for the next week is 2 pounds. This next week my cardio will be upped to 30 minutes per day except for the one day where I do 5 minutes extra (like today)...when I will do 35 minutes. I might change up my strength routine a little bit. Thirty-five more days of Lent left! I am hoping that I will be able to fit into my pink Easter dress this year...it is a size 6 from BEFORE I was pregnant with my second.

Cardio Only
Today I just did cardio...25 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 400 calories, according to the machine, but I figure it is actually closer to 300. It is finally starting to get a little nicer outside so I am hoping that I can add in an afternoon walk or jog with the kids for a little added calorie burn. I would also like to add some pilates exercises to my routine to help strengthen and lengthen!
Tomorrow I have 25 minutes on the elliptical plus lower body work. It is supposed to be sunny and 51 degrees tomorrow, so I want to go out with the kids tomorrow, as well. The wind isn't supposed to be as strong, either! Yeah!
Today I cheated on my nutrition and ate some cookies. My goal tomorrow is to be more strict about my diet. I will only allow myself to "cheat" on Valentine's day (Thursday) because I am baking a special cake for Valentine's. My goal is to be strict on my nutrition between now and Thursday. Four days...I should be able to do it.

My First Post
This is an attempt at accountability for myself and my fitness goals. I currently am 5'6" and weight 160 pounds. My goal is to weigh 135 pounds...so I have a little ways to go yet.
For Lent this year I have decided to add a good habit instead of giving up a bad one. I have decided to workout everyday of Lent...all 40 days. So far I have stuck to this, but it's only been 3 days! I am hoping that this will keep me focused on my goal, too, as it only takes 28 days to form a habit.
Today I did 25 minutes of cardio plus ab work. I am trying to stick to the Fat Smash plan by Dr. Ian Smith because I think that it is a healthy way to form new nutrition habits. Plus, I did it this summer and lost about 15 pounds. Then I got side tracked with the holiday season...don't we all? So now I am back to trying to stick to it. Nutrition is probably the thing that I have the hardest time with.
I plan on weighing myself on Tuesdays and I plan on posting progress pictures as I go. I guess that means that I should post a beginning picture, too. I really want to just be fit and look fit. I want to be an example to others and an inspiration. I also want to lose my "baby fat" from my last pregnancy so that I am not carrying extra if I have another baby. I would like to try to have a healthy pregnancy and be one of those women who looks great even after having a baby.
Hopefully I will be faithful enough to this to post every day! At least for the next 40 days!!!
